Instructions for Eaglesoft Integration
MouthWatch cameras easily integrate with Eaglesoft practice management and imaging software. Use the MouthWatch camera to capture images of the patient and store them directly into the patient record.
Step 1 – Download the Button Capture Software
If setting up a MouthWatch Plus+, make sure to install the required driver by checking the box during installation.
- Once installed, right-click the MouthWatch Capture icon in the lower right corner of your screen.
- A menu will display. Left-click Eaglesoft.
If you don’t see the MouthWatch Capture icon, click the ^ button to expand the System Tray. You can drag and drop the icon from the expanded System Tray down to your Taskbar.
Step 2 – Plug in the MouthWatch Camera
Make sure that you plug the USB connector into a powered USB port. Sometimes, these are located on the front or back of the computer. If your monitor has USB ports, these may not be powered.
If setting up a MouthWatch Plus+, use a USB 3.0 port.
Step 3 – Confirm MouthWatch Capture Detects the Camera
Once the camera is plugged in, the MouthWatch Capture icon should turn blue in the system tray, indicating it sees the camera.
Step 4 – Set Eaglesoft Preferences
From the Eaglesoft home screen, click File > Preferences. You should see the screen below:
-
Click the X-Ray tab.
- Click the Video button.
- Set Capture Card to Standard Windows Driver Model Device.
-
Set Default Device to USB Video Device, then click Save.
- Back in Preferences, click OK.
Step 5 – Take a Video Exam
Open a patient record and create a new Intraoral Video Exam. If you’re not sure how to do this, consult your Eaglesoft manual or contact Eaglesoft support.
- Open a template: Select an intraoral template with placeholders for the images you want to capture.
- Click the yellow Acquire button on the toolbar to begin capturing images into the template.
- A video capture window will open.
- Press the capture button on the MouthWatch intraoral camera.
- You should see Number: 0 increase by 1 as images are captured.
- When you close the capture window, the images will be saved to the patient record.
Step 6 – Adjust Video Format (If Needed)
If the video seems choppy, click the Setup button in the video capture window:
- You will see options for the video stream.
- If you get a white or black screen, uncheck Use Video Mixing Renderer.
- To reset color settings, click Default under the sliders.
Step 7 – All Set!
You are now ready to capture images directly into Eaglesoft.
You can start a video exam by clicking the Intraoral camera icon on the Operatory screen. This opens an exam where you can capture as many still photos as you like, and they will be saved to the patient record.
