Back and restore allows you to make sure multiple ExamTab devices are kept in sync while also ensuring that patient data and images are not lost due to accidental data loss. Be sure to backup your ExamTab file on a regular basis and consider storing a copy on a separate device.
When restoring a backup, it will add the images and patient data from the backup to your existing database. If you would like to replace your existing database with the backup, you will need to do a ‘Complete Restore’ from the settings menu.
Note: Backup files are identified by the .xtab file extension Once you click the Backup/Restore button , you can choose from the following options:
- Backup - this will take an entire backup of your current database and will live within ExamTab
- Backup & Share - this will take an entire backup of your current database and you can download into a separate folder to send or share outside of ExamTab
- Share a Backup - if you currently already have a backup, you can easily just download it and share it externally
- Restore - this will load a previous ExamTab backup into your current ExamTab, adding and/or replacing current database data
