Instructions for Schick Integration
MouthWatch cameras easily integrate with Schick imaging software. Use the MouthWatch camera to capture images of the patient and store them directly into the patient record.
Step 1 – Download the Button Capture Software
If setting up a MouthWatch Plus+, make sure to install the required driver by checking the box during installation.
- Once installed, right-click the MouthWatch Capture icon in the lower right corner of your screen.
- A menu will display. Hover over Schick, then select Schick 5.x.
If you don’t see the MouthWatch Capture icon, click the ^ button to expand the System Tray. You can drag and drop the icon from the expanded System Tray down to your Taskbar.
Step 2 – Plug in the MouthWatch Camera
Make sure you plug the USB connector into a powered USB port. Sometimes these are located on the front or back of the computer. If your monitor or a USB hub has ports, these may not be powered.
If setting up a MouthWatch Plus+, use a USB 3.0 port.
Step 3 – Confirm MouthWatch Capture Detects the Camera
Once the camera is plugged in, the MouthWatch Capture icon should turn blue in the system tray, indicating it sees the camera.
Step 4 – Download the Schick USB Camera Driver
Download and install the USBCam4 driver from Schick.
- Visit www.schickbysirona.com and locate the driver for USBCam4, or use this direct link: USBCam4 driver download.
- Choose the first option, USBCam4 driver.
- Run the installer, restart the computer, then open Schick.
Step 5 – Acquire Video
If you do not already have an intraoral video layout, create one first. Refer to your Schick documentation for layout setup.
- In a video layout, click the box where you want to capture the image.
- Click the same box again to begin viewing live video.
- If you are not in a video layout, right-click inside the view box and select Capture Video.
The screen below will display.
Step 6 – Capture and Save Images
Press the capture button on the MouthWatch camera to freeze an image.
- If Schick is set to Auto Take, the image will save automatically and the exam will move to the next box.
- If the capture button does not work, confirm the MouthWatch Capture software is running and set to Schick 5.x.
Step 7 – All Set!
Make sure the MouthWatch Capture software is running in the system tray and set to Schick.
