Patient Portal and Messaging
The Messages tab allows providers to send secure messages to providers in their group and to their patients. Providers are able to share images and treatment plans as well. A patient record must be created before you are able to communicate through the patient portal.
Inviting a Patient
Patients can be invited to the portal when a new patient is created and also from the patient record if they already exist in the system. An email address must be entered before a patient can be invited to the portal.
When a provider invites a patient to the portal, the patient will receive an email with a link to the site and a temporary password.
To enter the portal the patient will enter first name, last name, date of birth and the temporary password found in the invitation email. If the patient is a child and the parent or guardian is registering, they will need to enter the child’s name and date of birth.
The patient will be asked to set a new password.
When the patient has logged in to the portal they will have access to the messages sent by their provider and they can send messages to their provider.
A provider can see the status of the patients invitation in the patient record.
Sending a Message to a Patient
A message can be initiated from the patient record or the Messages tab. From the patient record click Message Patient to open the messaging tab.
Text can be entered in the text box, use enter key to send.
Images and documents can be attached to the message by clicking the icon in the upper right corner of the text box.
Messages can also be initiated from the Messages Tab.
Click on the Messages tab, click +New Message.
Start typing the name of the recipient and select from the list.
The recipient’s name will be displayed at the top of the message screen.
Provider to Provider Messaging
Providers can securely message other providers in their group. To initiate a message with another provider, click the Messages Tab and click +New Messages. Start typing the name of provider and select from the list.
A list of recent chats will be available on the left side of the messaging screen. To resume chat, click the name of the provider you are messaging.
If a provider is offline they will receive email notifications when they have a new message. Notifications for new messages will also appear in the notifications center
