The TeleDent Dentrix Integration Agent (TDIA) has been built to allow local installations of Dentrix to sync patient records into TeleDent. It does this by using the DtxLink API and creating-or-updating patient records in TeleDent.
Before you can use the agent you will need to install it. To install the TeleDent Dentrix Integration Agent you will need a unique API Key. Your organization will need to request this API key by contacting MouthWatch support.
After your organization has requested the API key, it can be found on the Organization or Practice page of the Admin Tools.
Step 1: Install Agent, Register API Key and Install Chrome
Click the link below and follow the prompts
The installer will confirm you accept the MouthWatch Terms of Service and will ask you where your Dentrix installation is located. Once confirmed, it will ask you for your API key. You must enter your valid API key to complete installation.
Synced patients are created in the organization or practice that is associate with the key you enter during installation so it is critical to select the correct API key. If you install the agent using the wrong key, uninstall the TeleDent Dentrix Integration Agent and reinstall using the desired key
Note: TeleDent offers full support for Google Chrome which is the preferred browser for the TeleDent Dentrix Installer Agent Installer. Limited support is available for Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
Step 2: Open Family File and Activate DtxLink
After you have installed the agent, open Family File and create or identify a record that you would like to sync to TeleDent. Once opened, click the dentriXlink button to activate the TDIA button on your toolbar.
After clicking OK on the dentriXlink dialog, the TDIA button should appear.
Please note that records synced to TeleDent must have a first name, last name, date of birth and email to be created.
The following fields are currently supported for sync:
- First name
- Last name
- Date of Birth
- Home Phone
- Mobile Phone
The first time activating the TDIA button, you may be asked to enter the Dentrix database passphrase to authenticate against your Dentrix database:
If you do not have this passphrase, you must receive it from your Dentrix system administrator before you can use the TDIA button.
Step 3: Click TDIA button
Once a patient record has been opened in Family File and the TDIA button has been activated, click the button. This will automatically open TeleDent in a Chrome Browser and create a new patient record with the information from the Dentrix patient record.
