Follow these steps to get the most out of your teledentistry visit
1. Register in the patient portal to make sure that you can message your provider and access links to your appointment. Click here for instructions.
2. Complete your paperwork. If you provider sent any paperwork such as medical history forms, make sure they are competed before your appointment starts.
3. Choose a quiet place for your visit. You'll want to make sure your location has:
- Little to no distractions
- Good lighting
- avoid backlighting that might come from sitting in front of a window, this makes it hard for the provider to see your face
- No background noise, grab a pair of headphones with a microphone if other people are around
4. Make a list to keep you focused during the call. You can include:
- Symptoms you've been experiencing
- Medications and supplements you are taking
- Questions for your provider
5. Get your device ready before it's time for your appointment
- For mobile devices (phone or tablet)
- make sure you are using the newest operating system. Run the update if you are using an older version
- Connect to WiFi
- Always allow TeleDent to access your camera and microphone
- For laptops and desktops
- Make sure your computer has a webcam and microphone (most laptops have integrated webcams and microphones)
- Update your browser
- Use Chrome, Firefox or Safari for best results
6. Join early so you have time to trouble shoot any issues before your appointment
